How much notice do I have to give for an order?

The sooner, the better! I typically limit myself to taking on only 2 weddings per week to ensure I can give each order the attention it deserves, without overextending myself.

Ideally, I prefer to receive 12 months' notice for wedding cake orders, although some popular wedding dates may be booked up to 2 years in advance. I strongly advise all clients to secure their preferred suppliers as soon as their wedding date is set. This ensures that your booking is guaranteed, allowing you to finalize details at your convenience.

I do strive to accommodate requests regardless of the notice period, although my ability to do so may be influenced by my pre-booked workload. During the summer months, when demand is high, I especially recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Please be aware that I take an extended break over the Christmas and New Year period.

Are you able to accommodate customers with special dietary requirements?

I do offer gluten-free cakes made with gluten and wheat-free flour, and I can also omit nuts from my cakes when necessary. However, it's important to note that all the cakes are prepared in an environment where nuts and gluten are present, and I use equipment that may have come into contact with them. As a result, I cannot guarantee that my products are completely free from these allergens, however special precautions will be taken to minimise the risk of cross-contamination.

For dairy or vegan free options, I suggest having a separate cutting cake or cupcake option available as typically all cakes are covered with dairy containing white chocolate ganache or buttercream.

I would like to decorate my cake with fresh flowers, are there any special considerations I need to think of?

If you are considering decorating your cake with fresh flowers, there are some important factors to keep in mind. Your florist would be the most knowledgeable person to guide you on this, as they can suggest flowers and foliage that are both aesthetically pleasing and safe for food contact.

Key considerations include ensuring that the flowers are food contact safe, non-toxic, and resilient enough to last throughout the day without wilting. I'm more than happy to coordinate with your florist, offer guidance on appropriate sizes, and align the setup times for the day.

It's advisable to order extra flowers needed for your cake in advance, prior to your wedding. I also have a list of edible, non-toxic, and toxic flowers that I can share with you and your florist to assist in selecting flowers for your cake.

A kind relative wants to make our wedding cake but cannot decorate it, would you be able to do that for us?

Unfortunately, due to restrictions of my liability insurance and Health and Safety, I am unable to work with any cakes that haven't been made by me in my approved kitchen.

Am I able to have a selection of flavours across the tiers of my wedding cake?

Absolutely! Any cake with multiple tiers can feature different flavours. In fact, I highly recommend offering a variety of flavours to accommodate different preferences and tastes among your guests. You can find a list of my flavour options by clicking here." Please click here for a  list of the flavour menu.

Do you provide tastings?

As part of the service, I conduct face-to-face consultations from November to March, where I provide samples of the most popular flavours for you to taste. My recipes have been perfected over twenty years and have been consistently enjoyed at numerous weddings. They continuously receive positive feedback and have a generous shelf life, allowing any leftovers to be enjoyed in the days following your event.

How do I secure a booking with you?

A deposit of £100 will secure your date. Please provide your contact details, date, venue and proposed style and this will enable me to draw up a booking form. The deposit is deductible from your total order cost.

Do you deliver the cake?

Yes, I always prefer to deliver and set up your wedding cake to your venue. You are welcome to collect the cake from my premises the day before your wedding but once it has left my care, I cannot be held liable for any loss or damage that may occur.
